We are saddened to report that G1 artist David Schleinkofer has passed away on April 20th, as reported by Protoman on Twitter/X. Mr. Schleinkofer was a prolific professional illustrator whose art was featured in many famous franchises. He will be remembered for drawing the iconic 1984 boxart mural showing the Transformers battling in deep space. It was used in the back of the G1 boxes of the aforementioned year. We offer our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
