We are saddened to report that G1 comic artist Jim Shooter has passed away today at age 73 after a long fight with cancer, as confirmed by comic book writer Mark Waid on his Facebook account. By the time Mr. Shooter was Marvel’s editor-in-chief, he wrote the initial six-page treatment for The Transformers comic for Marvel which was later taken by Bob Budiansky… and the rest is history. Mr. Shooter’s contribution not only to Transformers, but the comic industry in general is invaluable.
