QUESTIONS;
1. Best time to get passes from registration? Even though most of the con’s events start on Saturday getting your passes on Friday will save you time and give you a chance to get familiar with the venue before the con gets exceedingly busy.
2. Should I Schedule? TFCON can change one’s perception of time, so make sure to check out the schedule posted online to plan your day so that you don’t miss anything you wanted to check out.
3. Exclusives vs FOMO? It is very easy to be dragged into the very nice and limited shiny exclusives at conventions. Just make sure it is something you very much want before purchasing. Take plenty of time to research the product before the con or while waiting in line. Don’t let the FOMO Gremlins win.
4. How to budget? You will witness a lot of people dropping a lot of money at TFcon, but that doesn’t mean you should also. Don’t spend more than you are comfortable with and keep track on how much you’ve been spending.
5. Should I bring snacks & food? Making sure you keep hydrated and fed is important but please remember you are in a public place so try to avoid messy foods and common allergens. Always make sure to wash your hands and clean up before going back to the con areas and touching products
6. Special Guest etiquette? With special guests, which could be voice actors, animators, editors, and these days content creators, it’s always good to be respectful and to remember they are people to. For instance with voice actors, it is considered disrespectful asking them to say something in character or a catchphrase. If you are paying for a recording option that is different if it’s the line you wanted recording. Every guest will have a handler/ liaison if unsure of any etiquette you can always ask them.
7. Custom class? Friday Mornings is the TFcon custom class, and it’s a very good introduction to customizing transformers. It’s also a good place to meet new people during the shared activity. The finished figures are pretty cool also.
8. What to bring? If you don’t have a hotel room some kind of bag would be recommended, maybe some reusable shopping bags, and a change of clothing to freshen up.
10. What types of panels will be on the schedule? There will be a a large variety of panels ranging in topics from guest content, in-depth lore deconstructions to Toy centric topics.
11. Charity Auction? A unique event to TFcon Toronto is its annual charity, where all the proceeds goes to the Make A Wish Foundation.
