So, I’m a little on the fence about going to TFcon this year, mostly cause of the cost between driving in and getting a hotel room. I thought I’d see if there’s anyone interested in sharing a room before I commit, since a good roommie can make all the difference.
Me:
- A dude.
- Friendly and outgoing, but I don’t know everyone in the fandom. I don’t need to be at the centre of attention, so if you wanna keep a low profile that’s cool, or if you want to hang out with all your old friends at the con and invite me along that’s cool too. I’m socially flexible.
- I don’t smoke and I don’t use drugs, but I would be happy to have a few drinks with you, within reason – I’m getting too old to be dealing with hangovers lol.
- Booking at one of the other hotels, the main hotel is already booked out.
- I’ll have a vehicle and I can drive us to/from the main hotel, but I can’t pick you up from your house unless you’re in like sudbury or barrie or somewhere else along the route from the soo.
- I plan on hitting the dealer room floor very early on the Saturday morning. I’m worried that I may not find much of interest to me that I don’t already own (see below), and this is another big part of why I’m on the fence about going.
- I collect transformers toys, but I’m at a weird place in my collecting where I feel like I have justabout every retail release I’d want, so I’ve branched out and get the occasional art print or poster, and am kinda getting back into the comic books now. Would love to discuss!
I’m looking for:
- Someone to split the cost with.
- A dude. My wife wouldn’t be cool with me sharing a room with another woman.
- 18+. I’m just over 40, and teenagers wouldn’t find me fun anyway.
- I don’t mind if you smoke/vape pot, but not in the room please, and definitely not in my truck.
- No fringe personalities / people with BO problems / activism-obsessed people. This will be my summer vacation, and I just wanna avoid any drama.
If you’re interested and the above jives with you, please let me know ASAP cause the hotel blocks are booking out and I’ll need to book some vacation time if I commit.
