We have reached the end of another year, and we here at the Allspark would like to celebrate some of the good things that happened this year. So we want to bring you our favorite Transformers toys of the year.

My pick of Transformer of the year was a tough one. There were a lot of great Transformers that came out in both Kingdom and Studio Series 86, and it was really difficult to pick just one. I went with Rodimus Prime, as this commander class toy does not disappoint!

Growing up, my brother and I each got the G1 Rodimus Prime toy for Christmas 1986. It was a great time and a wonderful toy to play with growing up. I watched Rodimus Prime come to life in TFTM, and to have the toy to play with was great! We especially loved his battle trailer with the huge turret.  Now I get to share the joy with the next generation!

Its Box art is amazing! The lack of a plastic window gives the full artwork a more epic feel. The figure itself is an amazing homage to the G1 toy.

You can just imagine Daniel and Spike jumping into that cab to escape Unicron!

The trailer still opens up to reveal a massive double barreled cannon for Rodimus to fire, only this time, its detachable!

(Pony added for scale)

Rodimus comes with a lot of Blast effects that will really spruce up your Transformers collection and turn it into an epic battle scene!

Kingdom Rodimus is a good bit larger than his G1 counterpart.

In Robot mode, I would say that he would easily fit in with Voyager size bots.  His index fingers also are articulate separate from the other three fingers on each hand, allowing him to do some neat poses.

While I am not a fan of the black flames, I do love that he has the Matrix, and his sword of Primus from the Regeneration One comics is pretty cool!  Overall, he is well worth the $80 price tag, as he is an epic version of this character, and probably the best one we will ever get with the exception of the masterpiece line.
