Final talks are now underway to cast Anthony Ramos in the lead role of the next live action Transformers film.
Theater fans should recognize Anthony Ramos as a member of the original Hamilton cast, playing both John Laurens and Philip Hamilton. He has since notably gone on to play the lead role Usnavi de la Vega in In the Heights and its upcoming film adaptation, which is scheduled to release June 18 this year.
Transformers fans will also notice that Anthony Ramos is not Mark Wahlberg, which may give us a clue as to what direction the still mysterious next Transformers film will go. While we’ve previously reported that the film’s budget is at pre-Bumblebee numbers, a continuation (and resolution) of The Last Knight‘s plot threads may not be in the cards.
