Poor Hasbro. It just seems like they can never keep anything under wraps before they’re able to announce it. Or, in cases like this, if they ever intended to announce it at all (at least, in the state shown).

A Toys R Us listing (yes, they still exist in Canada. Be jealous.) shows a 2-pack featuring a Voyager class Starscream figure paired with a Deluxe Bumblebee, as depicted in the upcoming Transformers: Reactivate video game from developer Splash Damage. But, aside from the fact we still know so very little about the upcoming title as it is, what makes this really interesting is that the branding on the package and website all shows Transformers: Rise, the game’s previous title in development.

What that means is that anything we see here may be subject to change upon the game — and these toys’ — release.

The description gives us some potential insight into how the story and action in the game may play out:

When the Quintessons attack New York City, an unlikely alliance must be forged to stop the alien threat. In Transformers: Rise, Autobots and Decepticons team up to stop the Quintesson menace before they take over the universe. This two pack includes an unlikely team-up: the scheming Decepticon air commander, Starscream, and the courageous Autobot scout, Bumblebee.

Autobots and Decepticons, fighting together, mass hysteria!

And according to the TFWiki entry for the game, the name of the occupying force is the “Legion,” potentially indicating a change to or from Quintessons.

The figures include a pair of Null Rays (natch), a pair of Ion Blasters, and have “premium metallic battle damage deco reflecting the character graphics in the video game.” Plus, the box they come in shows off some of the character models from said game.

As usual, Starscream turns into a jet, while Bumblebee flexes his T-cog a little, and now turns into a dune buggy.

Take a gander for yourself at the images we took from the listing (don’t rush, it’s listed as “Out of Stock”), mirrored here for posterity and historical archival purposes, if nothing else.
