Sad news from Bloomberg, who report that game developer Niantic is making some big cuts to weather the struggles they find themselves in. Known for the runaway smash Pokemon Go, Niantic has since had to make some heavy adjustments to their roster and drop some projects that had previously been in development.

One of these projects is Transformers: Heavy Metal, an AR game featuring our favorite robots in disguise. This and three other projects have had to be canceled, along with the troubling reduction of their workforce by 8%. This will allow Niantic to focus on crucial priorities, including the still-going Pokemon Go and a new NBA collaboration.

Here’s hoping Niantic is able to bounce back as they refocus, and that the talented workers at every level land on their feet.
