“PLANET ORSON is a stop-motion animated documentary feature film from award-winning screenplay writer Jared Egol.

Through its surrealist lens, it retells the story of the final days of the singular genius of the great Orson Welles as he simultaneously tries to make amends to his daughter, raise a film fund from an unforgiving and malicious Hollywood, and voice a sentient planet in an animated movie starring transforming toys. But spurred by existential anxiety, Orson imagines the toys themselves as the judgmental documentarians of his incredible life as his mind slips into madness.

PLANET ORSON is a fan production inspired by the Hasbro-owned Transformers universe. Transformers is the intellectual property of Hasbro, Inc. This fan production is not endorsed by, sponsored by, nor affiliated with Hasbro, Inc. and is a non-commercial fan-made film intended for recreational use. No alleged in

dependent rights will be asserted against Hasbro, Inc.”

Why Kickstarter?

We believe the story of PLANET ORSON deserves to be made and seen.

But, PLANET ORSON is the kind of film that only fans of both films and toys could make so that other fans of films and toys could enjoy. And we know we’re not alone. We just might not collectively be the kind of audience that Hollywood and the Streamer-verse knows how to see.”
