Remembering The End Of An Era!

34 years ago today, the US G1 cartoon series ended with the airing of the final episode, Rebirth part 3. While the series would go on in Japan in a different direction, this would be the final new Transformers episode US fans would get until Beast Wars began to air almost 9 years later. For many this would be the last new Transformers show that they would see in their childhood.  The final episode is part of a three-parter that was the final season of the series. Originally going to be longer, the season’s storyline, written by the late David Wise, had to be compressed down into 3 episodes full of new character introductions.  Spoiler alert, with the help of the new Headmasters and Targetmasters, the Autobots are finally able to defeat the Decepticons and restore Cybertron to a new golden age!
