Hasbro Design Manager Sam Smith has shared a number of turnaround videos of Legacy Titan Class Cybertron Metroplex, giving us a look at some details not previously shown.

“I wanted to get some quick rotations down for Metroplex now that I’ve figured out a format for the Legacy products. This was a fun project to take over part way through the development process, as I had never contributed to a Titan scale figure before. These things are absolutely massive, and this guy stands tall amongst them. I am looking forward to doing some hands on shots with this guy.

Metroplex is a modernization of the 2005 Cybertron figure based on the animation. The original toy was approximately 13 inches tall and aligned some great toy features to the animation. Our 2022 version took the scale of this character to heart and set out to deliver this triple-moder at a whopping 22”!

There were a few parts that ended up shifting molds right before tool start, so sadly the shoulder cannons could not be molded in the intended gun metal gray, and had to be molded with sections of the feet. While we are not immune to development changes, the end result actually aligns more closely to the original toy.

I will do a more official development breakdown of the character, but I wanted to celebrate what an awesome figure this was to pose and photograph with @studio.dtw . The light piping on this head is insane (it lets so much light in) and it was fun to highlight it between shots. We actually couldn’t shoot with the traditional backdrop method to the height of the figure so the background needed to be added in post.”
